Tehran, September 4 (MRUD NEWS)—According to Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, the second rail export cargo loaded in Tehran's rail dry port departed to Turkey.
With the establishment of customs, the customs formalities in the rail dry port of Tehran has facilitated the loading and unloading of export cargos. This will open up new opportunities for traders and merchants.
Nearly 180,000 tons of cargoes are exported to Turkey each year by land. Iran Railways tries to attract freight transit from land to rail transport.
Previously in March 2023, the first phase of Tehran's rail dry port, known as Aprin, with an area of about 55 hectares had been inaugurated by Mehrdad Bazrpash, Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development. This dry port which is about 20 km away from Tehran and adjacent to Eslamshahr is located at the center of East-West and North-South international railway corridors.
